Richard Garner (born April 20, 1969, in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian sports broadcaster, producer and the former vice-president of programming at The Score Television Network.[1] He was the host and producer of the show Drive This! on Hardcore Sports Radio and The Score.[2]
Garner grew up in Aylmer, Quebec where he learned to speak French.[3] Throughout his career, he has worked primarily in Sports television. He has produced several television shows and documentaries such as Zoo Diaries.[4]
He became the executive producer for Hardcore Sports Radio in 2006. Prior to joining Hardcore Sports Radio, he worked for Rogers Sportsnet and TSN. He became the host of Drive This!, an uncensored hardcore sports radio talk show, in 2007.
In 2007, he traveled to Africa, along with his Drive This! cohost Sarah Meehan, teaching journalism to Ghanaian journalists for an organization called 'Journalists for Human Rights'.[3] On March 27, 2009 he announced he was leaving The Score television network to devote his time to an organization called "The One Network". His last day at the score was April 9, 2009.
